COVE-EXSEE has officially entered its implementation phase. The launch of COVE-EXSEE - CoVEs Expanding in South East Europe through Synergies and Innovation marks the beginning of a collaborative European initiative dedicated to strengthening vocational excellence, promoting innovation, and fostering sustainable partnerships across South-East Europe.

COVE-EXSEE brings together leading organisations from research, vocational education and training (VET), industry and innovation to support the development of modern skills ecosystems. By strengthening Centres of Vocational Excellence, the project aims to improve collaboration, knowledge exchange and workforce preparedness while addressing the evolving needs of industry and society.

Building on Proven Excellence:

The project builds upon the achievements and experience gained through previous Centres of Vocational Excellence initiatives, including COVE-WENDT, AILEEN, and the WELDNET EU Project. By capitalising on existing expertise and creating new synergies with European and regional innovation ecosystems, COVE-EXSEE seeks to maximise impact and ensure long-term sustainability.

Driving Innovation and Skills Development:

Through close cooperation between research organisations, VET providers, industry partners and innovation stakeholders, COVE-EXSEE will contribute to strengthening regional vocational education systems, supporting digital and green skills development, encouraging knowledge transfer, and promoting policy alignment across South-East Europe.

Project Consortium:

COVE-EXSEE is coordinated by ISIM TIMIȘOARA, together with a strong European consortium comprising:

  • Centre for Research & Technology Hellas (CERTH)
  • European Federation for Welding, Joining and Cutting (EWF)
  • IIS - Istituto Italiano della Saldatura
  • International Institute of Welding (IIW)
  • Middle East Technical University (METU)
  • Helixconnect

Looking Ahead:

As implementation begins, the consortium looks forward to working closely with vocational education providers, industry, research organisations, policymakers and other stakeholders to promote excellence, innovation and collaboration throughout South-East Europe. Together, the partners will contribute to creating more resilient, future-oriented vocational education and training systems that respond to regional and European priorities.

We are excited to begin this journey and look forward to advancing vocational excellence, innovation and sustainable skills development across South-East Europe through the COVE-EXSEE project.
